Replaced the timer. Bought the part from AppliancePartsPros and showed up three days later.
The installation took maybe 15 minutes.
5 screws hold it on the backplate on the control section of the dryer. Pulled the wire harness off the broken timer. There are 5. Then using pliers you squeeze the mounting clips and pull the timer out. Just push on the new timer into the mounts.
Now it safely works. So no fear of fire from the dryer just staying on
Saved a few hundred not having a technician come in and repair it.
