Pulled the ice bucket out from the freezer to take a look at the business end of the dispenser. A broken drum staring me in the face. Right then I watched the repair video AppliancePartsPros.com provides to determine if this is my kind of fix, seemed simple enough so I ordered the part at that point. Part came within two days, wow! I waited a few days for some free time, I’ve learned things like this don’t turn out well when I’m rushed. I went by common sense and my memory from the video to disassemble the bucket etc ‘til I couldn’t get the plastic nut off the shaft-oh yeah, reverse thread! Noticed that in the video, memory didn’t work. The rest of the process was very easy, and the assembly of everything went quickly. The mechanism that pushes the ice towards the drum was plastic, not steel like in the video, but that made no difference in getting this fixed. AppliancePartsPros.com is great to work with, they even added a link to the video in an email after ordering the part so that saved time too!
