I looked up the issue with my GE fridge where the freezer was cold but the fridge wasnt and it seems to be a common problem. The defroster in the freezer was burnt out (probably from that one time i went on vacation and left my freezer door slightly open). The repair was relatively easy. I just had to empty the freezer, remove the back panel, defrost the huge amount of ice on the coils, change the defroster and defrost limiter thermostat and put everything back together. It involves removing like 4-6 screws, unplugging and plugging, and clipping 2 wires and twisting 2 wirenuts (defrost limiter thermostat). It was pretty easy and not its working fine.
