Removed the defective burner labeled the leads as to their location and coil connections. Replaced the connections to the corresponding locations, 1 to 1, 2 to 2 and the bridged terminal as it was. I noticed that the coils in the replacement burner were not wound in the same direction as the original burner and made note of this. I did not think much of this at the time, but on turning the power back on and lighting up the burners I noticed up they were not lighting up the corresponding elements.
On Hi all the elements lit up, on medium hi the front burner did not correspond as the others did so I reversed leads 1 and 2 and now all the elements are corresponding as the others, the exception the rear (6") burner is dim on med-hi but the replacement burner is lighting up as all the others except the rear burner which is dimmed on med-hi as I said previously. The front burner is lighting up as the two larger burners do on all the other settings.
My Range has two small elements, front and rear and two larger elements left and right. The stove was installed back in 1963 and is almost in the same condition as the day it was installed in the house I built. My now deceased wife of 64 years took excellent care of it and is a tribute to her. I hope this is in detail as well as I could put it to be understood by others.
Thank you for your rescue of the replacement burner
.The replacement took me about 1 hour to replace since I do not go up and down stairs as fast as I once was able at 87 years of age and I did this in my spare moments.
