Called LG warranty as motor has 10 year coverage. Nothing but indifference from manufacturer.
Took on the repair myself. Opened back panel and immediately saw the Rotor Assy. Removed single bolt and extracted the part (it is magnetic so you need to pull straight back). Identified several flecks of plastic and noticed that they had originated from the center spline. All the teeth on the plastic spline were worn away. This is the critical drive mechanism.
Confirmed with AP Pros for the part and installed the part in less than 5 minutes. Washer works like a champ!
