This was a simple fix. Lint everywhere in the lower part of the dryer had set off the thermal cutoff fuses. After thoroughly cleaning out the lint, the fuses took only a few minutes to replace and the dryer is up and running like new! The lint was absolutely a fire hazard and I am glad the fuses had done their job. I will be doing an annual cleaning from now on. I received genuine Whirlpool parts promptly from Appliance parts.com
HEY, DON'T FORGET TO UNPLUG DRYER BEFORE ANY REPAIR!!!
