I first found this site after the element blew - which was scary ordeal, as if a welder was welding in my oven. After I turned off the breaker and settled my nerves I found this website. BTW what a Lifesaver! After reading the reviews and ease of installation, I figured that if the non DIY'ers can do it, I as a pro contractor should have no problem. So I placed my order with over night shipping and received the item the next day and began the work. I pulled the oven out from the wall and unplugged leaving enough room to work, removed the screws from the back panel, carefully disconnected the wires to the element and temp probe, removed screws to the element and probe on the inside of oven and then carefully removed the element and probe as not to damage the insulation. I then vacuumed the inside of the oven to remove the dusty char and melted metal bits of the blown element. Gave inside of oven a good wipe down with a wet cloth ( NO SOAP or CLEANERS to be used inside the over). I then carefully installed the element and probe as to not destroy the insulation, tightened screw, reconnected wires, reinstalled back panel and tightened screws. I then plugged in the oven, set the time to ensure controls functioned properly and then I turned on the oven. It all went well and I was back in order with about 10 minutes invested in the repair. 3 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
