Samsung DG47-00055A Oven Broil Element OEM Part

Broiler element in my Samsung range burned out the week before Christmas. Contacted Samsung, they suggested it was not a user serviceable part, and pointed me to local service guy. Local service guy told me he didn't have the part, couldn't get it in for 6 days, meaning no oven for Christmas. Told him I'd call back, if I couldn't find it sooner. Had one other lead to check locally, determined they didn't have the part, and put my order in at Appliance Parts Pro... 26 hours and 2 minutes later, Fed Ex delivered my Broiler Element!! Appliance Parts Pro ROCKS!!! Information on changing this element suggested it was easier to remove rear cover, had to pull the range out to get in the oven and change the element anyhow, so I pulled rear cover. Just as well that I did, the lead on one side of the element had burned off, and I'd have had to pull it anyhow to recover the wire. Only 5 screws in the back, no big deal, made things much simpler!! While internet info didn't clearly point it out, temperature probe is attached to the element on mine also. Meaning you have 3 wires that are way to short to unplug in the back of the oven, in the back of the oven. Total time to pull the range, remove rear panel, change the element, clean inside and outside of the range, sweep everything up under the range, and put everything back together, about 30 minutes. 5 Screws to remove inside, 5 screws to remove on the back, 3 wires to unplug and plug back in. Pretty basic!! Be sure to unplug or turn the breaker off before servicing.

Following steps: 1. Unplug range is an absolute necessity. 2. Remove back panel from range 3. Remove wire connectors from element and heat sensor 4. Remove element mounting hardware inside oven 5. Remove old element with heat sensor and mounting bracket attached 6. Remove heat sensor (probe) and mounting bracket from old element and attach to new element 7. Insert new element and replace mounting hardware 8. Replace wire connections to element and heat sensor 9. Replace back panel of range and plug in electrical outlet and you are finished!

I went online and looked at a couple of blogs and found out the repair was prett easy. Unplugged the stove, took off the back, unplugged the element wires. Went inside the oven and undid the hold down bolts and removed the old element. Cleaned the oven and reversed the steps. Easy!!!

I first found this site after the element blew - which was scary ordeal, as if a welder was welding in my oven. After I turned off the breaker and settled my nerves I found this website. BTW what a Lifesaver! After reading the reviews and ease of installation, I figured that if the non DIY'ers can do it, I as a pro contractor should have no problem. So I placed my order with over night shipping and received the item the next day and began the work. I pulled the oven out from the wall and unplugged leaving enough room to work, removed the screws from the back panel, carefully disconnected the wires to the element and temp probe, removed screws to the element and probe on the inside of oven and then carefully removed the element and probe as not to damage the insulation. I then vacuumed the inside of the oven to remove the dusty char and melted metal bits of the blown element. Gave inside of oven a good wipe down with a wet cloth ( NO SOAP or CLEANERS to be used inside the over). I then carefully installed the element and probe as to not destroy the insulation, tightened screw, reconnected wires, reinstalled back panel and tightened screws. I then plugged in the oven, set the time to ensure controls functioned properly and then I turned on the oven. It all went well and I was back in order with about 10 minutes invested in the repair.

Removed the old element, installed new one simple 15 mimites. Needed to remove back panel from oven, easier with an extra pair of hands in the front.
