I never knew that ovens could "break" their hinges but apparently they wear out. The left side made a huge banging noise when I tried to open and close door. I noticed the nylon wheel was no longer spinning/operational when engaging the door. Appliance part pros had the hinge in stock and I ordered one for the other side (youtube repairmen recommend replacing both since if one has worn out the other may not be far behind). It took me, a 58 year old white collar professional woman, about 7 minutes total to replace these hinges with a screwdriver, pliers, and some old clothes to crawl on the floor. ANYONE can do it. Just follow any instructions on youtube. I also took the opportunity to do a good cleaning of the oven drawer and floor underneath. My GE Profile oven is almost 25 years old and still going strong, now with new hinges!
