After researching my ice maker not working and chatting with AppliancePartsPros on line, I found that it was more than likely 1 of 2 things, either the water inlet valve or the ice maker itself. I did the suggested testing of the inlet valve but was unable to positively say that was the problem (I'm not an electrician so trying to figure out the correct ohms was a bit of a problem for me). I decided to start there thinking it would be easier to fix. I ordered the part on Monday and had it Wednesday. It took me about an hour to replace the part just to find that this was not the problem (I had a feeling it wasn't). Thursday morning I ordered the ice maker and had it Saturday. I found a YouTube video that walked me through the replacement process, it was so much easier than I expected and easier than the inlet valve. Total time was about 30 min. As soon as I finished the install and closed the doors the ice maker started up and filled the tray with ice. It's been 4 days now and we have tons of ice being made! Over all I am very satisfied with my purchases and for $115 for both items I cannot complain, I would have spent 2-3x that if I had called a repair person. I will definitely turn to AppliancePartsPros for any future appliance issues.
