James D Covington , LA February 18, 2015 Appliance: Model KENMORE SIDE BY SIDE 106.56672500 Ice maker was not making ice and seal on the bottom of the freezer door was broken and i had been having problems with the ice freezing together in the ice container Replaced the ice maker motor/controls. After watching you tube video, this was very easy. To replace the door seals (side by side) I cut a piece of cardboard from the shipping box to fit over the larger refrigerator door opening, which would also fit the freezer door opening. I removed one door at a time, placing the cardboard over the opening and securing it with some magnets, but masking tape would also work. I removed the old door seals, and used a putty knife to push in along the door seal area to make sure there were no insulation or other obstruction. I replaced the door seal, just like in the you tube video. At the bottom of both doors, the inner liner had separated a little bit from the outer door and the seal would not stay firmly in place. I applied some RTV along the seam and once the seal was in place, used masking tape to hold it firmly in place while I replaced the door. The next day, the RTV had hardened and I removed the masking tape. Working great Got the parts very fast and was much easier than I anticipated. 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
