We've got a Samsung with one of those Space Saver ice makers. This is the second time it's stopped working. Last time was 2017. Ordered a new ice maker and it arrived THE NEXT DAY! I was not expecting that, but was very appreciative. Secured water and power. Grabbed my Number 2 Philips and removed the screw for the side cover. Removed the cover, unplugged the larger electrical plug, and then pulled the entire unit out. The new one went right in place and locked into position. Reconnected the electrical plug, replaced the panel and screw. Installed the ice bucket and restored water and power. It took less than 10 minutes. A few hours later and I've got my first ice dropping into the bucket.
