Got on YouTube and typed in “Samsung” model number and “ice maker”. Got a video of the trouble shooting and replacement of the fill tube heater element replacement. Removed the ice maker and unplugged the fill tube wiring. Checked the continuity of the two terminals, with a multimeter, which should have been approximately 105 ohms, according to the Samsung troubleshooting instructions. There was no continuity which indicated an open circuit and required replacement of the fill tube assembly.
Ordered the part indicated on the video. Shipping took 5 days to California. Installed the part in 15 minutes and it fixed the problem. Ice maker now works normally.
