First, I Googled the issue and found several expert sites for troubleshooting all pointing to the laser light circuit boards. So I Googled the circuit boards I needed and Appliance Parts Pros came up. Started to peruse that sight and was invited to "chat" with someone whom I stated the problem and they concurred that it was a sensor and needed new circuit boards. Told me the price and offered to place the order... I noticed there was a helpful video on their website by the part link that they conveniently provided, so asked the rep if I could watch the video first to make sure the repair was something we could do. No problem. Watched the very well done 5- minute instructional video and saw it was easy peasy! So ordered the part. It arrived 2 days later (not express) and we watched the video as we did the repair. Could not have been easier! Well done Appliance Parts Pros! Ice maker is working beautifully and I know in our area I bet we saved at least $500 on the repair doing it ourselves!
