Took out screws to remove the control panel from the door, removed a few pin connectors from the old control board, replaced it with the new board, and reassembled and now my dishwasher works again. You may need to use pliers to grip and remove the pin connectors from the board.
I originally purchased the "switch assembly" because I thought that was the issue with the dishwasher, but it was actually this control board that needed to be replaced.
