I looked over the frequently asked questions and found someone with a similar situation. The solution from the online technical help was to replace the main circuit board, which did not help this individual. The individual was given a troubleshooting guide to narrow down the problem. I contacted online technical help and described my situation and requested the same troubleshooting guide. Since I expected my type of problem to be either a control panel or main circuit board, I only needed to perform the wiring checks on the control panel. If the panel failed the resistance checks, it was bad. If the panel passed the resistance checks, the control panel was bad. The panel buttons that were not working on the dishwasher had a much higher resistance value than the working buttons. This told me the panel was most likely bad. I ordered a replacement panel that was delivered very fast. The panel was replaced and the dishwasher worked like it should.
