Read the manual and diagnosed the problem was not due to a water flow issue but a defective optic sensor system. To test if my theory was on point, ordered a very inexpensive clone of these two parts and ice production began but surmised that this part would not last and not all problems would be resolved, namely the control of volume of ice production. Subsequently ordered the part from APP and it successfully resolved the problem. I'm a recent widow whose late husband loved to repair gadgets. I've never fixed anything but learned from watching him do a systematic diagnosis and isolate the fault, then do the necessary rework to eliminate the problem.
