Connie B Fenton , MO March 12, 2014 Kitchen aid stand mixer with a stripped gear. I took apart the head of my Kitchen Aid stand mixer to get to the gear housing. Once inside the gear housing I was able to determine which gear was stripped or worn, (this is caused by too heavy of a load). I cleaned out all the grease and took apart the gears, replaced the bad gear and reassembled the gears and new grease. Now my stand mixer works like new. There are how to videos on the internet and are very easy to follow so I was able to fix my mixer by using parts from Appliance Parts Pro for much less then what it would have cost to ship it out to be fixed .
