Removed and replaced. The part is not cheap but I wanted to get the original equipment item. Appliance parts pros had the part and shipped it as described. Also their price was among the lowest I found online. Phone service was excellent and the accompanying video was informative. If you do this job and you have the same washer I do, you might find that several of the fasteners that accept a Phillips screwdriver can also be worked using a socket or nut driver (I think it’s a 7 mm), which might make things easier. Takes a bit of fiddling to get one or two of the sheet metal holes lined up on reassembly but overall a straightforward job. Good service from this vendor.
