I replaced the following parts in the GE WASHER that I have owned for approximately 14 years:
Part no.: WH08X10038 - rubber gasket
Part no.: WH01X10277 - inside gasket clamp
Part no.: WH01x10279 - outside gasket clamp
The two gasket clamps were ordered on 1/18/24 and delivered the next afternoon to my front door. I already had the replacement rubber gasket from a long time ago.
I will mention that I have NEVER tried replacing a part on a major appliance. Since the washer machine is 14 years old, I thought it would be worth a shot. Watching the video of Matt from AppliancePartsPros.com, put me at ease to give it a try. I watched it a few times before I became comfortable enough to complete the repair on my own.
I took my sweet time in getting this repair done. It took me just under an hour to get the old clamps and gasket removed. Although my washer was not the exact model in the video, it was easy to follow along, as the machine layout was very similar to mine.
The reinstall took me two hours and eighteen minutes. Installing the interior portion of the gasket alone was the most challenging part of the job (about an hour or so) for me. It definitely took considerate effort from me to get the inner part of the gasket affixed accordingly to the inside area. Once it was installed, it was easy to get the inner clamp installed coupled with installing the outer portion of the gasket and outer clamp. Reinstalling the door, lower panel, and top cover was very easy.
It is UP AND RUNNING without any LEAKS!
