I found two problems one of the latch switches indicated that it was bad. It also shows that the thermal fuse was bad so I decided to change both. The appliance parts pros videos were very instructive and made the repair easy. The new switch was physically different than the original but it fit without any issue. The one thing I will advise is when you put the new latch into the slot on the closure make sure that it is secure I thought mine was secure but when I closed The door the latch pulled loose and I had to take the door apart again to figure out how to get the latch to release. That would probably be a good video for appliance parts pros tonight. It’s not obvious how to get the latch released from the switch. Replacing both the fuse and the latch switch put our washer back in operation. Dealing with the lower part of the door on your own is a little bit of a problem. So if you have someone hold one side makes it much easier.
