I took out both tubs from the washer machine including the agitator. Then I removed the water pump, motor and transmission. The basket drive bearings were worn so I replaced those as well as the brake components and springs for them. There was a missing pad on the frame that was allowing the frame pieces to hit each other during the spin cycle. I replaced all 6 pads.
I also used a grinder to remove rust on the bottom of the inner tub and repainted it. I removed grease and scum from the outer tub that was coming up into the washer. I also replaced the springs on the bottom of the outer tub to help with balance. Finally I replaced the Bell drive that is in the agitator.
