After watching some internet videos, I concluded my lid switch had gone bad while the washer was in storage for 8 years. I ordered the wrong part: after it arrived I realized my switch was even simpler, a normally open microswitch. I bypassed the lid switch to confirm the motor and pump still worked, then ordered the right part. AppliancePartsPros quickly delivered the correct switch; it only took about 10 minutes to install.
