Richard S La Grange Park , IL February 10, 2018 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer WTW5800SW0 Whirlpool Washer Wtw5800sw0: Maytag washer outer tub leaking. How to replace Outer Tub. I have a 10 year old Maytag top loading washer model wtw5800sw0. First, diagnosed the problem by removing the cover of the washing machine and observing the leak coming from the bottom of the tub. Unfortunately, this is not the simplest fix. But using the youtube video on this site and a little patience, I was able to disassemble the washer and remove the tub. Once I confirmed the tub was beyond hope due to wear and tear and the hard mineral water here in Chicago area, I ordered a new tub (part 63849) and bottom gasket. When the new tub arrived, I cleaned all the parts and re-assembled the washer, again with a big helping hand from the video. Everything working fine new. 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours
