My 11 year old GE Profile microwave blew an internal fuse when turned on, leaving the unit totally dead. I opened it up and found the blown fuse on the first circuit board connected to the power cord. As expected, it blew a new fuse as well. Research showed that it is most likely the large capacitor that "jump starts" the magnetron. Sure enough, my meter showed it shorted. I replaced it with a new one, as well as the diode, from Appliance Parts Pros. The repair was easy and straight forward. The unit is now fully functional. Delivery was fairly quick.
