Although the original pump was affixed to the base of the wash drum, this new kit follows a design change by Samsung where they relocated the pump to the washer base. You must install this pump to the base of the washer, near where the old pump was. There are already screw holes on the base.
Make sure and install the rubber thing first or you won't be able to get at it if the pump is in the way.
The tube to the base is stretched more than I would like to see, so I anticipate a trip to home depot to replace the tube within the next few months. Also, I didn't replace any of the wiring harnesses and I used the old yellow+black wires from the original pump. Your mileage may vary. The wires have less range of motion (pump is further away) so unless its your washer I'd highly recommend replacing the whole wiring harness that it comes with so you don't risk the wires breaking loose during spin cycles.
I needed a #10 metric wrench to take the original bolts off of the drum. They were tight as heck.
I used a monkey wrench to pinch the hose clamps to get them in place.
I actually replaced one of the hose clamps with a screw type clamp for added tightness on the tube running from the drum to the pump. This is the tube that I think is manufactured too short.
For inspiration I also referred to the following video, which had some great pointers:

My washer is back online and working well.
