I ordered one replacement knob from an online retailer but it didn't fit. My high-end GE range was a replacement by an insurance company and it has a model number that does not appear on standard lists of GE Ranges. Connected to GE online chat and gave my model number and asked for the knob part number that would fit. They offered to sell it but I wasn't comfortable typing my credit card into a chat session. I went to AppliancePartsPros with my knob's part number. They let you pay safely by PayPal. I ordered one knob. It worked great, same price as GE, and looked better than the original knobs. The new one does not have the soft plastic insert to fit over the shaft and should not wear out as quickly. After testing, I ordered the remaining three knobs. Problem solved.
