Replaced the igniter (GE 1996 model gas stove).
TURN OFF ELECTRIC to stove first!
Remove racks.
Remove 2 screws on the bottom plate in the back. Lift the bottom from the back, pull up and slide out.
Remove hold-down screws from the burner so you can lift it slightly and move it toward the right. This makes it easier to get to the igniter screws.
Remove 2 screws that hold the igniter to the burner with a 1/4 inch socket and racket.
Remove the igniter and push toward the back feeding wires down the back.
Remove the pot cover door, pull the wires through and remove the igniter from
Reverse procedure to install new igniter.
