Turned the power off to the stove. Disconnected it. Removed oven drawer. Pulled stove out. Removed cooktop screws underneath it. Lifted the cooktop up and blocked it up. Removed screws that were holding side panels on and replaced the broken hinge/spring mechanism on both sides. Reattached side panels and slid door on hinges. Perfect!! Pushed the stove back in place and turned the power back on. Everything works. I did watch your video but did not remove any wires whatsoever from the cooktop.
