I did not use a meter to test voltage to these parts but instead just ordered replacement parts. The replacement of the oven element was simple; however, the stovetop element was a bit more involved to replace. The new element I received was not quite the same as the original manufactured part. CAUTION...you have to pay particular attention to the etching numbers on the ceramic part that has the male connectors to ensure that you have the wires properly attached. My mistake was that I had 2-wires improperly connected which caused me to accomplish a do-over...LOL.
