Replacing the igniter involved a simple set of steps — removing the door and bottom plate of the oven, and the back panel of the range, and then swapping out the igniter and its wiring with its thermal lining.
From what I can tell, one advantage of the Bosch part here is that it comes with that thermal sheath. If one bought a generic part, those seem to come without the protection; you would want to clip the wires and leave existing heat protection in place then. The previous (original) wiring definitely showed the steady exposure to heat.
This was an easy one. The hardest part of this process was just knowing for sure that we were ordering the right part for our range model.
