The original silverware basket supplied with my Kitchen-aid dishwasher was a masterpiece of a non functioning design. Replaced original basket with the "Basket-War" unit and all the problems associated with the original basket disappeared. The "Basket-War" fit perfectly in the my Kitchen-aid-dishwasher and the installation was just a matter of lifting out the original basket and setting the "Basket-War in the same place as the original basket.
