First, replaced the thermostat. Second, replaced the control board and vacuumed the accumulated debris from inside the dryer. The appliance repair person did most of the work, I meticulously vacuumed and cleaned the 15+ year old dryer.
I refuse to dump appliances into the landfill if it can be repaired.
