My Kenmore Elite refrigerator first started making a loud banging noise when an ice tray tilted to dump ice (that loud noise could last up to 20 seconds). Then it eventually stopped making ice.
Fast forward: I bought an assembly kit for my ice maker (I was reluctant first as it is advertised as a Genuine "LG" part, and mine is Kenmore - but a quick phone call to APP's customer service clarified everything). It was relatively easy to replace it and mine is working (like new) again!
One more thing - the shipping was very quick. I selected a "standard" shipping method, but it was delivered at my front door only 2 days after the day I had placed an order.
