Since I am unemployed & had no money to pay for repairs or replacement this disabled senior citizen went on the Internet & UTUBE and read about symptoms & how to repair yourself 2 save money. Companies wanted minimum $100 just to look at it. I opted to read online at appliance part.com video on how to replace the defrost thermostat myself. I have never in my life repaired anything but, I only had $40 on a credit card. The part was $25 and after shipping $32 it arrived 2 days later. I viewed the video 4 times then I proceeded to unplug, unscrew, use hair dryer to remove ice, then splice wires & join together, duct tape up and out of the way, replace cover & freezer bulb and plug up my refrigerator and started running like new but my ice maker wasn't immediately working so I was worried a little. The next morning I got up and looked inside my ice maker was working and the temperature said 0 zero degrees and 45 degrees in my refrigerator. I have been on cloud 9 since. I am amazed !!! I called two repairmen I knew personally both suggested I buy a new one its 12 years old already. I didn't have the $750.
