After watching Appliance Parts Pro’s videos I was able to diagnose the problem. A broken heater element. I then watched their repair videos and decided that I was, with their guidance, able to perform the repair myself. I also watched some of their other videos and decided that while I had the machine disassembled, and the dryer had been making a squealing noise lately, I would also replace the drum support rollers and the drum belt.
During reassembly with the new parts I noticed that the wire color positions from my dryer and the dryer in the videos where in different positions on the heater element, thermal cutoff switch and high limit thermostat. I used the “chat with a pro” function on their website and had an answer within minutes that the wiring position of these particular items did not matter (would work in either position).
The dryer works perfectly now!
