The clip that holds the motor in place (stupid design) had stretched and popped off causing a grinding sound in the dryer when the drum rotated. This required removing the top and front panels of the dryer, and removing the drum to replace the clamp. There are 2 clamps on the motor mount (front and back) I would recommend changing both out while your there. All in all it was about an hour to take apart the dryer and diagnose the problem. About a hour to put back together and test. but seems to be running good now.
