I double checked to make sure it wasn't an electrical problem,. switched to spin cycle only, no clothes (no load) in tub and it all worked fine, so knew it was a mechanical issue. The website pointed out the common issues, main one was belt slipping which I now suspected also.
I ordered the new belt plus the installer and it all went seamless. Installed and now its working just fine again.
