Replacing the motor control board fixed the problem (tub not rotating, Error code E5E). The Washer Tech Data Sheet implies that error code E5E could be the wiring, control board, or speed control board. It suggests that if the wiring is ok to replace the control board then if still bad the speed control board which I assumed was the motor control board. I visually checked the wiring and reseated the connectors and with the problem still there, went against the advice of the Washer Tech Data Sheet and guessed motor control board. My guess is correct I lucked out on that one but overall replacing the board wasn’t easy for me. First, because I have a dryer on top of the washing machine I had to get off by myself and then because the hot water hose bibb (faucet) wouldn’t turn off. Getting the 29 Torx (star) screws out of the back panel might have been a hassle but I have a nice cordless screwdriver and the Torx bit.
