I followed the instructions for replacing the shaft seal in the fantastic video.
I did run into a problem with an incorrect and incompatible bracket on the replacement solenoid. However, I was able to cut the solenoid off the original bracket with a hacksaw. I then glued the new solenoid to the old bracket with some JB Weld epoxy. After letting it dry overnight, everything else went back together without a problem.
