After doing a little research I determined that is was either the control board or locking mechanism. I decided to do the control board first, and after replacing it, the washer functions normally again. The control board was pretty difficult to get in and out due to the tight space I had to work with. Be careful with the sharp edges of the sheet metal, I got a pretty good cut. Other than that the repair was easy and took about 30 minutes.
