The friction disc on the transmission/brake assembly had broken. Ordered the new part Tuesday night about 9PM and was amazed that it arrived by 10AM Thursday morning. The repair was easier than it first appeared. The most difficult part initially was breaking the hub nut loose due to lacking the regular tool. After trying to cut it with a chisel, I found that I had a deep 3/4 drive socket that fit the 1 11/16 nut. It became a two second removal then.
