Before opening up the washer to look for an obvious problem, I researched it online. There were many possible problems found from minor to major repairs. So I figured to take off the front panel and take a look at how things were put together. Imagine my surprise to find the belt shredded on this fairly new washer. Ordered the belt, which arrived in a couple days. Researching the installation I found that a special installation tool was "required" that attached to the motor shaft to keep the belt from slipping off the shaft when winding it around the tub "wheel". The instructions were great, if you had the tool which I did not. So, being "smarter than a tool" I figured to get the belt on "per the video" without it. The video instructions showed installation method from the bottom side of the wheel, but AS IT STATED, the belt too tight and kept slipping off without the tool. After staring at it in humbleness and frustration, lol, I came up with option B. TOO SIMPLE. Attach the belt to the wheel with a zip tie (per video). Then place remainder of the loose belt on TOP of the wheel instead of trying from the bottom. Place ribs on belt on motor shaft ribs. Turn wheel slowly while watching that belt does not slide off ribs. The top motor support bracket that the shaft comes through will act as the "special tool" and the belt will not slip off. Go slowly as the belt is tight and the wheel will be hard to turn. As you get rotated around to be able to reach the zip tie, the belt should be mostly on the wheel and you can cut the tie off. Rotate the wheel several times to make sure it stays on the ribbed motor shaft and tub wheel. Good to go. Test washer with small load before replacing front panel.
