I replaced this pump on my LG Washer, Model #WM0532HW. The video helped, but it was much easier to get to the pump on my model of washer. I simply popped the front edge of the top up enough to access the two screws at the top, then removed the door seal wire, unplugged the door latch switch wire, and removed the screw at the bottom of the drain access door. The front then lifted right off and I had complete access to the pump.
Since I had the washer open I replaced the recirculation pump as well. It hadn't been working for a while. Two things to check, regardless if you replace the recirulatiion pump or not:
1) Check the hose leading from the recirc pump to the spray nozzle at the top of the door seal. Mine was completely blocked by lint/grunge. I had to use the rounded end of the door seal wire to partially unblock it, then water pressure from a garden hose. I couldn't believe how much crud came out of that hose.
2) Check the drain hose from the drain/recirc pump mainifold. When my drain pump failed, I went to use that hose to drain the washer but no water came out. I finally had to slowly unscrew the drain trap and let the water out that way. What a mess. When I finally got everything apart, I found the drain hose was completely packed with sediment from 12 years of washing clothes. That hose never gets flushed unless you use it to drain the washer. It took me about 20 minutes of poking, flushing, bending, and twisting to get all the sediment out.
Overall, this was a dead-simple repair and the washer is back in business.
