My refrigerator was only a year old but just past the warranty of 1-year by a month. The compressor has a GE Warranty of 5 years but unfortunately this was not the problem. I figured out that it was the capacitor which connected to the relay which in turn connected to the compressor--BINGO! This was the issue. The part was extremely affordable and was even easier to change than I thought. Being a single mom I am glad that the part was fairly inexpensive and even happier that it was so easy to replace. I would order again in a heartbeat! The shipping was FAST--the only delay I had was that FedEx had trouble finding my house (a new driver) and it took an extra day but all in all every part of this experience was painless!
