Once I realized I could hear the electric motor turning but nothing else was moving I figured it was a broken drive belt. That was confirmed when I moved the washer and there was the belt on the floor. The longest part of the job was scooping the water out of the washer. Once the water level was low enough I could tilt the washer and install the new belt. It's taking longer to write this than it did to put the new belt on.
I also replaced the old drain hose as it was needed as well. The hardest part of that job was taking the back panel off the washing machine. Great design to have that readily accessible.
