I unscrewed 6 screws on the back of my GE washing machine and pulled the front forward on the top panel. First, you need to turn off the water at the wall and unplug the machine. When I could see the inside of the panel, I could see the water valve. I unscrewed 2 screws and the valve easily pulled out. I inserted the new valve and screwed it in. Replaced the back panel and repositioned the front panel and screwed back the 6 screws, I reattached the hoses and screwed the 6 screws back in. Then I turned on the water and put the power plug back in. It works like new.
