Replaced cold water valve and lid lock assembly; locks have a tendency to fail on these washers, I think this is my third one. Both jobs are super easy. Disconnect water lines and unplug the washer, remove 5 hex screws that hold on the rear upper panel, 2 screws that hold the lid, and 1 screw that holds a little metal cover. The cold water valve is held in by 2 vertical screws. There are 2 mildly tricky parts: (1) the electrical connectors were too tight to remove by hand and required needle nose pliers, and (2) there’s little room around the screws, I’d recommend a 1/4” deep socket or an extension, you’ll never get a nut driver in there. Lock assembly: slide entire top panel forward about 1/2”, prop up the front (I used a woodblock), remove 2 screws, unplug control panel connector, feed the connector through the hole, and removed the wire by gently prying up on the two metal clips. Installation is the reverse of removal. Only 2 mildly tricky parts: (1) the top panel must be slid forward just so, too far and it will stick; (2) the control panel connector has a small tab that must be squeezed for removal, needle nose pliers recommended again. One final warning: keep the screws segregated, as some of them are different sizes.
