I started off replacing the motor assembly as I was told by a plumber that that was the source of the leak. I was dismayed when the leaking continued after installing the new motor assembly. I noticed water seemed to be leaking out of the junction of the inlet sump and the motor assembly, so I took a chance and ordered a replacement inlet sump. Once I replaced that, the leaking stopped.
