My Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine would not start. It made a clicking sound, attempts to start, then shuts off in a few seconds. This machine does not has an error code system. The lid light would flash continuously and the sensor light would remain on. I first thought the lid switch was the problem and so I replaced it but the problem remains the same. Then I did some online research and found a few people with similar problems. All of these people changed the Shift Actuator and the problem was solved. I followed their example and changed the Shift Actuator and the problem was solved
